Sil-Q tiles, floor is too dark
Disclaimer: I'm old, and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Windows 10, I turn the brightness up all the way for Angband and Sil-Q
I found it very difficult to discern items against the floor tile, especially stairs. Monsters not so much. After some experimenting I changed the floor tile to a grey square with RGB values of 40,40,40 (that's 0x28,0x28,0x28 to be unambiguous). This seems to be approximately what you see in Angband using the Gervais tiles, so it's comfortable for me. By no means am I asking MicroChasm to change the tile on my account, but if enough other people chime in with the same issue then he can make a judgement. |

Thanks for the feedback, it's good for me to see the tiles from other people's perspectives.
Here is a link to a zip file that includes both the 16x16.bmp and 16x16_microchasm.png files, modified to use the 0x28, 0x28, 0x28 color as the basis for the floor tiles, but adding the floor pattern back on as well. Feel free to use it if you would like. If the floor pattern is not important to you, you can use your own modified files of course.
