I recently purchased one of these toy-subnotebooks. I believe Angband was considered when this machine was designed, because 80x25 in default font just fits on the display. Coincidence? I think not!
![]() ![]() Of course no dedicated numeric keypad, so I guess I need to start learning rogue keyset...

SONY has nothing to fear, despite their worry about downward price pressure. Nobody will buy that thing if they have even the slightest choice. (They'll buy a used laptop like I did.)
What a blast from the past--that thing looks like a TRS80, or maybe an Amiga. |

I don't think SONY has to fear either, this surely is not going to replace the ultra-performing ultra-stylish ultra-expensive VAIO line.
But for someone, who basically needs a lightweight, very portable terminal with something that resembled a real keyboard, and does not need Windows or shitload of horse power, it is a very nice new option.

Been reading some reviews on that one and was considering a purchase myself.
Please share what you do like and don't like about the unit so far. |

What I dislike is: noisy fan which kicks in after a longer period of continuous usage; page up and page down keys done over Fn shift, so you can't use them when browsing web single-handedly; well that's about it so far. Otherwise I like it so far. One especially cool feature for me is a very nice Skype integration, as I never managed to get it moving properly on a big PC with all those microphones and headsets and stuff...

Fn + I is what I'm doing at the moment. Not very comfy.
And mouse it has neither. Touchpad is murder.

Learning the roguelike keyset only takes a couple hours' play. I find it more natural now, because you rarely need to move your right hand from the home keys.

I guess it does have a usb so you could always go and plug in a USB number pad only keyboard... sorta breaks portability though!
