compiling on linux: unwary w/ background

Hi all,

I'm running x64 debian and compiled Sil 1.3

I noticed that I'm somehow unable to find a Makefile configuration that gives me a curses or ncurses-based binary that will show unwary or sleeping enemies correctly, i.e., with background color. I have of course enabled this option.

Any ideas on this? Thanks a lot in advance!
It' a huge drawback not immediately identifying unwary/sleeping enemies for me

As far as I can tell, that's impossible. All colorpairs in main-gcu.c use black background. If you need this functionality, you'll have to use x11...

Hi, thanks a lot! Now I can stop trying to get it going

I tried X11 but wasnt able to have the different info (equipment, inventory, rolls, ...) all in one window instead of several windows. Do you happen to know if that is possible?

No, that's also impossible (unless you're going to write another port ).
