No extension at all. Oddly enough, if you leave it as .txt it works just as well.

I'd crash too if I were a game and someone tried to use a savefile from the FUTURE.
I'd do it in self-defense. Obviously the user is a time-traveller and could go back and do something well-meaning but destructive like stopping COBOL from ever being written, unless I slow him down *now* by hindering his 'banding! |

I have checked and it's true, the server is serving these save files as text/plain. I have reconfigured it to serve them as application/octet-stream (from that directory only), should help.
