I'm slowly working on building an offline copy of the strips, just in case the official websites implodes in the future (as I did for the TAC). But it's a slow process ... you're invited to beat me to it

Well, you can use something like

Code:

lynx -dump http://angband.calamarain.net/archive.php?year=2006 | grep view\.php|awk '{ print $2 }'

to get the archive URLs quickly. For each URL you can then use something like

Code:

lynx -source http://angband.calamarain.net/view.php?date=2006-12-22|grep PNG|cut -d\" -f4

to get the "comics" path which can be added to angband.calamarain.net.
Just tested it with some example pages. Better idea maybe to ask Roger if someone knows him (which should be the case in this forum

Trying out some more ideas but the way above seems to work. Sadly you will only have the pictures and not the descriptions - which mostly are the real jokes...

Doesn't wget have a recursive mode for downloading entire websites? That would seem to be the most straightforward way to get a mirror set up.

Probably yes - but it really consumes bandwidth and additionally im not sure if it will work with the pictures. But someone can sure try it

Anyway i managed it to download the 5 years without much trouble, just a small script. Sure i got only the pictures.

Well, the idea was to read the whole thing along the way, but, yeah, that would take ages. So please mail me everything from June 2007 to the end (I guess you haven't been renaming the files to YYYY-MM-DD.PNG format?)

Well, not now - but i think that this will be an "easy" task. Must just redownload them again to get the names...will try later. Atm i only got them bundled yearly.
