Yes. In fact, if this character dies, I recommend you change the name for a second one, so that then it doesn't overwrite.

I found a bug that crashes the game and I can't register on the NPP forum so thought that I'd report it here. I know I ran into this bug with in Beta 7 a couple of times. Every time I'm hit with a Nexus ball from a light red rune (N:159 in terrain.txt) the game crashes and I have to start from my last save point. I'm pretty sure that I've run into these traps before and not had the game crash but that's not 100% sure. My current quest is a cave dweller pit and the ogre mages keep creating those traps and crashing the game at my current level. If someone has an email I can use to send to the developers/maintainers that would be appreciated. I've copied my savefile so that you can look at that in case it's equipment related.
