LOL, +1
what about adding mechanical puzzles? for example, in order to use the stairs, one should find the handle of the door that gives access to them. It could be somewhere on the floor, or dropped as loot. Another (stupid) idea: ASCII models! that is, when "I"nspecting an object, or 'l'ooking at a monster, an ASCII representation could be presented too. For example, a short sword (the "0" is meant to be a decorative jewel): Code:

WOW! That's exactly what I meant with "using existing objects to craft new items".
So crafting a sword would require dropping two rings and five edged weapons in this pattern. (But what's 0?). Last edited by Mikko Lehtinen; April 1, 2012 at 15:38. |

That should be an "@": you're supposed to stand in the center to complete the crafting ritual.

No, no, no, you need some orc leather to bind the handle together.

also in 3.5:
Explore the dungeon on rollerblades (fast and easily maneuverable)! Rent a car (bonus to armor and damage, but aggravate monsters due to noise)! Bump that dragon off with a tank (very slow but huge damage)! |

Yep. Its about time we take this whole thing closed source and start charging these hippie-dippie freeloaders. No more object drops with great items or artifacts. They should have to buy "Angband points" that they can use to get the objects they need to win the game.
