New poster with probably a silly question

Hey all, I've just started playing Angband again. First time I played was in '93 or '94. Can't really remember. Anyway, how do I turn on randarts? I'm not very good computer-wise and would appreciate some help.

It's a birth option. Kill your current character (shift-q), and then during the birth process of the new character (you'll need to press n to avoid starting an identical character with identical options), press = for birth options and find it in the list and toggle it. Then finish off creating your new character and start the game.

In the birth options - hit the equals sign key when you're creating a character to bring these up!
