After Twisp I only made it to level 25, I didn't have much hope for Twisp II. I chose only to upgrade one version instead of two. I wanted to win with the new spread out mage books before I tried out the newest version, which uses up an inventory slot for any book you've learned a spell from and two for any bag (as I am a pack rat, this would mean even more trips to town for no good reason)

I chose to stop exactly 1 experience point above Ignis instead of maxing out because there are no longer any monsters which give more than 300k experience at level 50. Experience at the upper end was cut dramatically (probably as a necessary result of lowering the number of levels from 100 to 60). I stuck the crown on to speed up this slow process but even that was too boring.

In addition, the high level books are so spread out and so rare that I had to check the edit files to make sure they were still there after searching for them for ages. They should be more spread out (in terms of dungeon levels), as even the less powerful ones (like Cyromancy/Corrosion/Pyromancy) tend to show up only in vaults until level 55.

Some minor bugs: All the hard monsters show up as "lesser", even on dlevel 60 in vaults. Alchemist's gloves usually get guessed as gloves of might because they can't be damaged by something. Morgoth showed up a second time in a vault on dlevel 60 after he died. He disappeared after one of my earthquakes and never appeared again.

Nevertheless, despite the late game issues, the game was fun to play yet again. Once I got a few of the good books (genocide and mana storm, for example) and a good stock of mana/healing potions, Sauron and Morgoth were a breeze. I've noticed it takes me fewer and fewer attempts to get a winner as the number of times I've won has gone up.

Maybe next time I'll find something as useful as Power Armor (fallout 3 band?) before killing Morgoth. I would have tried to make it into 'of the Khazad' (+constitution/int) with my stockpiled dwarven runes but at that point I had the crown on so there was no point in more stats.

Another minor issue I just remembered: "Magic Book of Suffering" had resistance type spells in it. Seems to me like it's misnamed or has the wrong spells in it.
