I wasn't really trying to set a record for this guy, but hey, axemasters get off to a pretty good start with their abilities :) Not a terrible randart generated at dlvl 99 either, but once again certainly nothing to write home about.

Fingolfin in Doom Quest II actually turned out to be a very fortuitous find, as it allowed the fifth natural attack/round (+1 extra for two-handed axemasters). I was a little surprised that a piddly 18/77 strength allowed for 5 natural blows/round despite the decent dexterity. Whatever, I'll definitely take it.

Now back to the Dragon Caves I guess to grind out those potions of con...and new life. 107/100 rating, but 18/80 max con, blech.

So...once you get to the Dragon Caves, that's where the Victor's Calculated Suicidal Gameplay (tm) takes effect. Here's the stuff I bring along:

1. Staff of Detect Evil (preferably 2)
2. Staff of Object Location
3. Staff of Enlightenment
4. Rods of Trap Location (or staff as the case may be if you go SO fast like I do sometimes :) )
5. Wands of Stone to Mud
6. A source of levitation is nice.

With that combo of stuff, you can detect the majority of nasty enemies, detect objects that are REALLY nice for that character level, and make a beeline for those objects using the staff of enlightenment, levitation and stone to mud.

Cheap? Well considering how many things at that depth can one-shot you, it is a very, very calculated risk, but ohhh the rewards :) I can't count the number of times I've been blown away by big breaths from various dragons, Darkness Storms from Brand or Ansalom, frost breaths from Petshop (HATESOMUCH), but this tactic really, really speeds things up.

Coupled with my love of stealth, and grabbing neat items before I'm "supposed" to, this sequence has kept me entertained for quite a while now. Try it out! You might get horribly addicted :)
