   6,713 450 ft It was a 3-use enchanted forge.
6,713 450 ft Not sure if it was wise to spend 4,700 exp this way :-
                      (
6,713 450 ft Anyways, now I only need to find a source of rPoison.

   9,022 500 ft Made a Crown of True Sight [+1] 3.0 lb
9,023 500 ft Wouldn't be able to make the boots and the crown if
                      there wasn't . .
   9,023 500 ft . . . a spear of the Vanyar conveniently placed beside
                      the forge.
9,023 500 ft The downside is that my Smithing is 11 while Melee is
                      a meager 5 :-(
9,226 550 ft Found my first ring of damage :-)

9,270 600 ft Nearly got killed by a shadow spider. And that is

   9,312 600 ft (Inner Light)
9,352 600 ft Slew a sapphire serpent in one hit (charge). That is

11,724 600 ft It is a fine bastard sword to employ some Momentum.
  11,725 600 ft (Momentum)
11,785 600 ft Encountered Orcobal, Champion of the Orcs
11,949 650 ft Fell through a false floor.
12,289 700 ft Damn ruby serpents and a creeping horror destroyed 5
                      out of 30 . . .
12,289 700 ft . . . of my arrows of piercing and none of my regular
                      arrows.
12,289 700 ft What are the chances? That is just not fair.
12,323 700 ft And then I step on an acid trap. So lucky.
12,994 700 ft I wonder if Knock Back would help me fight a
                      deathblade...
  12,994 700 ft (Knock Back)
13,007 700 ft Oh it did!
13,040 700 ft Riposte can trigger Knock Back. Interesting.
13,441 700 ft Found The Bastard Sword 'Anguirel'
13,452 700 ft Now my wonderful Sword of Aerik is rendered not-so-
                      wonderful :-(
13,452 700 ft Okay, I'll try out 'Anguirel' on that grotesque...
  13,549 700 ft (Clarity)
13,558 700 ft Why do silent watchers so easily terrify me even when
                      I am in rage?
14,225 750 ft Encountered Umuiyan, the Doorkeeper

A high-strength character to try Charge+Momentum. I even made a nice artefact 4.5 lb bastard sword to match the effective str with bonuses from Charge and !Str.
Then I was almost sorry to find 'Anguirel' because it totally supersedes my self-made sword. It looks like this always happens to things made with Weaponsmithing -- that's why, I guess, Psi always puts it on gloves and at the very end of the game -- it isn't usually worth the trouble unless you are making an ultimate masterpiece of a weapon.

It does feel weird to be able to trigger Knock Back with a lightweight blade of Galadriel, but it is quite nice with Riposte: helps you escape quick monsters stepping on your heels.

I wonder if I should take Mind Over Body since I use Amulet of Regeneration quite a lot, and 'Anguirel' makes you hungry as well.

Considering whether I should invest in Stealth. Haven't been to this depth that many times, but I remember that things start noticing you from, like, the opposite corner of a level if you are not stealthy enough...

You're looking hongry! I had the luxury of a stocked larder (6 Lembas) when I found Anguirel, but still needed a form of slow hunger on the ascent even though I went through several food items on the ground like I had a wasting disease. I never took the blade off.

I've never made a decent smith, but if I could, it seems like Dam +2 or Str +2 rings now with momentum, would make nearly any weapon devastating enough.
