After maybe 15 attempts, I finally caught enough breaks to bring this one to completion. Since I like to play Vanilla in no-artifacts mode, I thought I'd try that with Sil. It proved to be remarkably much harder than I had expected. I also really enjoy the free hit with polearm mastery, especially combined with controlled retreat. Lots of fun, although I think just using a normal sword is actually probably better. I find Flanking and Zone of Control very powerful because of the way the A.I. tries to surround you - many free hits, which is particularly nice against cat warriors (or should I say, #%#*$!!$*&!! cat warriors). The modest investment in archery worked out well for this character. I didn't shoot very often (mostly used melee), which meant when I did shoot, I mostly shot +3 arrows. So I hit reasonably often.

Nicely done. People had just been speculating in a thread on builds whether polearms were viable!
