Finally, a somewhat more successful Melee+Evasion run, especially since I now have Glend.

By the way, Nan can be a bastard in v1.1. Dude has better accuracy his Giant colleagues.

I ended up taking up Will because I was getting stuck without a Staff of Sanctity, making it just Melee/Evasion/Will, nothing else. Afterwards, I went deeper, but took on the Throne Room a bit too early. Upon entering, a Vampire lord awoke to my appearance. I went towards the West wing. But, shit hit the fan when something 'dark' came in and that synergized the beating I got from the Troll Guards. Is it just me, or these Troll Guards are way tougher in v.1.1? I also didn't buff appropriately...I buffed just CON initally. I was too low on consumables. I *FORGOT* to wear the Jewelled Crown of Brilliance in the midst of fighting. I didn't get Inner Light this time as I spent initial points on Curse Breaking, and a few other things, not to mention it's expensive at this time. It was an Ancient Amethyst Serpent that screwed up the fun.

Oh well...

Trolls did change a bit. Mountain, snow and cave all got +1 accuracy, guards got +2. Mountain lost a small amount of health but the others all gained a bit more (an extra 2d4 for guards, which ups regen a bit too I suppose). Also they all have lower perception and will.

Snow trolls and troll guards can definitely be problematic when you first meet them.

Snow were still easy even with initial encounters. On the othee hand, half and Scatha stepped it up the Troll Guards in v1.1.1
