Keeping a few staves of teleportation is always a good idea. If the enemy manages to blind or confuse you, or if you run out of mana, those staves can be a life-saver.

Also, having single resistances is sometimes not enough. From a comment I read, that player has quadruple resists. So, I use my "Resistances of Scarabtarices" book to get double resistance. I almost died when one of the creatures breathed fire. I was like "wtf! I have resist fire!"

HLife stops any drain something like 9/10ths (?) of the time and if you are drained it reduces the drain by something like 9/10ths (?). This means that you can usually get the xp back by killing the bugger that did it to you.

I dungeon dived to around level 50. I spotted a herd of hounds so I thought it was easy meat. However, I didn't notice a semi-camouflaged dark creature right to the south of the hounds. While I was spamming the F4 key (my macro for cast fire bolt), that dark visitor breathed dark and since I have no dark resist, I got instakilled.

I lacked attention to detail. My eyes were getting tired so I didn't see that dark creature at the fringes of the map.

And I was so shocked that I forgot to do a file dump. Well, RIP Salad!
