Main tricks were ironman_rooms and minimizing "dead" time. You only really need to walk to Lothlorien, then to Angband. Use the Thunderlords to teleport everywhere, learn the different kinds of vaults, and raid the sandworm lair as early as possible. Never rest if you can avoid it—Drain and Recharge will cover your mana, which lets you move practically everywhere by recalling (Conveyance school) with the swap position effect.
