Another go at stealth & fear on a Belegost. Simply because the idea of jumping out & blowing a horn in an orc's face then vanishing amuses me.

No luck with stealth drops, though that kite shields only 6lbs & the greaves 5.5lbs.

The gauntlets of treachery/horn of terror/song of elbereth = carnage. I feel like the love child of Ulfang & a Melwip.

would you try light gear fear build ever? maybe with a lot of evasion?

Ever is a long time, so yes. Dodge is probably pretty useful if your stepping backwards from a werewolf or vampire while singing Elbereth. I'm pretty attached to high protection though, most of my evasive characters have died to archers.

High evasion will be hard on a belegost (only 2 dex) though considering stealth has the same problem maybe I should try. Does 7.5lb plain mithril count? May well end up building a suit for this guy.

the stealth armour combination irks me, admittedly. therefore the question :)

Yeah it's aesthetically a little weird. I have less problem with it when it's either Mithril or super-light elven mail under a shadow cloak. The massive shield bothers me a bit. The greaves also, though currently I'm waking up most things any way & I'll probably switch to the boots when I get enough stealth to bother.

A tad better. I now feel like I can sneak past a particularly inattentive rock. I'm even hitting 10 stealth if I change to the greatsword.

I'm a little stumped on how to proceed from here. I'll probably have to play semi-pacifist soon, so will/evasion/stealth, but what order? I really need both majesty & the dex from stealth soon. Dodge/wolfsbane & song of silence also look handy

Over 8000 turns for a battle axe to drop is insane. Hopefully it or the mattock will do for the crown. Still waiting on a staff of slumber & quickness potions.

You are worrying about the throne room a bit early :)

I always worry that I'll hit the throne room without the staff on this kind of build, as I've hit 950' with no staff of slumber before. Though your right in that I died at 550' to Orcibal. Half asleep and didn't bother to turn Elbereth on till 1 turn to late. He must of hit me for over 20 after amour. I'm too used to being in mail. I'd normally just be able to tank his hits.
