Finally a solid run. Got 17 smithing now without any grace drain and wearing my smithing kit. Got lucky and found an early mithril gauntlet [0,1d1]. The gauntlet itself wasn't all that impressive, but it gave me an early source of mithril which I promptly smelt down and put to good use in a faenorian lamp of brightness.

I still need a lesser jewel of grace and a smithing warhammer. Not quite sure what order I want to make those yet. Also a Nargothrond bow before rauker depths is pretty important. And song of sharpness for all the serpents.

Decided not to go for (concentration) and (focused attack) this game. I spawned in an isolated room (no doors) after taking a stairs earlier, which was why I took (eye for details). Taking those two skills on top of that would mean rauko-bane or master hunter would be out of reach, or listen...honestly the evasion and perception tree all feel so stacked.

I kind of have a love-hate relationship with smithing. It's precisely the open ended ness of it that appeals to me. But at the same time, it opens up holes in the rest of your build because of the experience sink and if you screw up the order in which you do things, you'll just flat out die.

The brass lantern of true sight is going to stick around as a swap item when I start meeting salraukos.
