I found a vault in a 4000ft dungeon that i'd carefully avoided until now, having almost got killed when I crept down once early on by like a goat of mendes or something... I killed Santa Claus! Going to go back down and kill some unique 'e' thing that almost murdered me... forgotten its name...

Update - I finally found a potion of new life in a hidden black market! It only cost $600,000 - now I can actually play around with the equipment I want to, so I'm off to try out new combinations of stuff - haven't started yet, but its good to not have a -6 penalty to CON or a -5 to INT any more... :D

Oremorj wasn't actually too bad, even though he was the first cyberdemon I'd taken on in combat - up close isn't so bad, they don't seem to launch rockets much, if at all, and he didn't summon anything else to fuck me up either... I decided to go somewhere less dangerous after that though, being at 19hp was scary as hell... not sure what strategy to use with Meph though, maybe mass genocide cyberdemons before fighting him?
