Ran through a greater vault last night. No impressive loot, but I did take on a bone golem and the Mark XX Production unit. Gaining levels relatively steadily still, although I don't like that skill points per level drop off so dramatically. It is hard to plan ahead when you don't know how many skill points you will get.

As usual for my melee oriented characters, I think high level casters will be his undoing.

Dracula was a bit of an anti-climax. I powered up with holy prayers and protection from evil. Finished him off with two critical hits in a row.

Looking for artifact pants and cloak. The amulet of arbaces is awesome. Easily the best thing I have found so far.

As you can see I'm still missing a lot of resistances for the level I'm at. It doesn't seem to matter for this guy, I haven't met anything that can regularly hit him due to his high AC, and telepathy and detection let him get the drop on any powerful breathers.

Will be dropping steadily to dl 20 (dl 80) for speed now. I'll repost when something significant happens.

Just found the Rind of Tesla which let me dump the defender pnematic sword for the cavalry sabre of tesla. This weapon does unreal damage. On criticals it can do three stars to a greater balrog!

I haven't offed many uniques lately, so I am a little worried that I will get surrounded by uniques in the final battle. All of my teleportation scrolls and staves got burned up in a fight with bomb carrying ornithopter bastards.

Recently found the shotgun which is very nice. The range sucks, but the activation and damage are worth it. I was going to keep my previous ranged weapon [(+31,+50) Extra Might (+2) Elephant Gun] for the final battle, but it got burned before I could drop it off at home. Therefore, I need to find some good shotgun ammo for the final battle.

Wish me luck for the endgame.

Winner! There was really no doubt about this one. One thing that was kindof scary was that Fu Manchu was generated inside a greater vault with Shub Niggrurath and Jack the Ripper. The permanent walls helped me seperate them from eachother, so I could deal with them seperately. I offed the other two when Fu Manchu teleported away after my first barrage.

The huge hitpoints and multiple attacks made this char very easy at the end. Once I had the Ring of Tesla I climbed like a monkey to the top. Ahhhhh fresh air.

Dr. Moreau was fairly easy as well. He summoned Captain Nemo, who I teleported away and never bothered to hunt down. I missed a few uniques, but it didn't seem to matter in the final battle. Fu Manchu summoned greater undead twice. Both times the nastiest thing to appear was a Grey Wraith.

This variant will get *much* more difficult for melee characters with the 4GAI. This character was able to outrun most ranged attackers, but witht the 4GAI I imagine that speed alone won't be enough to take out a large group of ranged attackers.

I recommend automata for all starting Steam players. Great starting stats, and you are unapproachable in melee. Watch out for confusion attacks until you find that ring of resist bewilderment!

I'll probably go into testing mode for now. I need to take a little break and decide what my next character will be.
