Unbeliever is interesting - especially figuring out what is considered 'magic', and what isn't. Scrolls work; symbiosis doesn't; potions work; rods don't... hmmm.

Woohoo! I found Rindil!
... wait a minute - Rindil?
... umm, yeah, well, it's the Wal-Mart version. Sure it's a bit smaller, and doesn't do as much, and maybe it is broken already, but what do you expect for $69.95? It looks nice there on the wall in the Mathom House.

Junkarts (especially ones found on low levels) still work.

Yes, I figured that out - that's why I'm packing Mordy's Masher around. Most of them take too many tries to activate to be really useful, though.

22!? That's still way too high. I'm talking scumming Barrow Downs level 1 for heal 700 randarts =D

OK - I understand you now. That's a pretty boring occupation, though.

BTW, I think that Unbeliever is one of the two most powerful classes in TOME (second most powerful class in my opinion is Sorceror).

I suppose that is possible, with the right equipment. This guy has had a lot more close calls that many of my other characters.

Just got Sting from a dracolisk, and one of the first abilities it has learned is drain life from foes. I am going to like this weapon!

I spoke too soon. Experience drain I could handle, but earthquakes too is just too much annoyance. I return to Earadinum, my vampiric tulwar.

Yeah, Earthquake has got to be one of the three most annoying "powers" that a sentient weapon can gain, the others being aggravate and clone monster.

deggial, you are *so* wrong. Alchemists, possessors, monks, assassins, etc. are all very strong and at least on a par with Unbeliever/Sorceror. In fact, I personally don't really like Sorceror that much--how is it better than mage? It's not like anyone really uses Water, Air, Meta, Mind schools anyway. At Nature/Temporal/Conveyance can easily be substituted by Magic Device. Definitely not worth a big drain in HP IMO.

I've ventured a few levels into Angband, but came too close to being killed, so I'm working on improving my kit a little, first.

I've got Dethanc up to lvl 44 without any unpleasant abilities, which has never happened to me before. I'm sure I'd be better off with some of the other weapons I've accumulated, but it's fun levelling up the sentient weapons.

After some equipment juggling, trading extra attacks for a bit more speed, I have ventured back into Angband with better success. Found Nimthanc, and started levelling it a bit, but didn't like the way it was shaping up, so have left it.

I finally decided to put Dethanc away and take up my artifact dark sword. The darin life and +5 speed is a big help in Angband, and allows me to switch back to my ring with +3 attacks instead of the +13 RoS.

Exciting times... Was knocked out and killed by a master mystic on a princess quest, but was restored by the Blood of Life (I had forgotten that I even had it). Then had 11 drujs of some kind on another princess quest and had to retreat up a level - and found Mormegil. The drujs posed little trouble on the next attempt. Mormegil is great, with +5 speed and attacks, and vampirism, but the afc is a little scary. I got hit by it once, and was paralyzed for a bit, but fortunately nothing nasty was nearby. Anyway, I am using it sparingly.
