Melkor defeated the first time :).

At the beginning i was lucky to get a decent force beam spell and area spell. Then for a long time no good spells and not much luck finding stat potion nor good equip. Finally in the i-batch of spells i got an area inertia spell 8d89 for just 60 mana. The winner spell. Doing massive damage and also slowing almost all monsters, including Melkor, down.

Since i didn't find any means of magical breathing except the undeath phial which i didn't want to equip i went into the void/nether real without. Stair scumming and healing my symbiote and then life share with a fast mana regen did the trick until i killed Tikki and got the ring of phasing. Strangly The Flame Imperishable didn't vanish after making the Mage Staff of Eternity.

Yes. Wasn't hard at all. The symbiote powers use next to no mana and i think every time i got damage from not being able to breath i also regained 25 mana. Having 1500 hps helped also since u can loose 300 or 400 doing scair scumming or looking around before healing up again.

Of course doing all this and killing Melkor with Thaumaturgy almost feals like cheating :). It's just way to overpowered.
