My first halfway decent character in NPP 0.4.0. It took me five tries to get the high elf mage going. All leveling has been done by taking quests. I took a few monster quests, then a yonk pit quest, followed by an orc pit. Then I just now finished my first stronghold quest. Forest Trolls were incredibly easy since they have no ranged attack and my mage has decent stealth. I was able to pick them off 1 by 1 and "aggravate" them by casting stinking cloud in their center, then using my +2 Speed to run away, and take them out in a tunnel. I'm about to undertake my first vault quest. I just hope Wormy doesn't show up, because I want to wait to kill him until later.

Belangil means losing a point in CON without giving much in return, so it's no option.

The only thing I'd consider here equipment-wise is to swap Arvedui, Resist Elements shield for Hyarath and Resistance shield.

This to get the +2 CON. You lose only res Shards. If you can find a good enough ring, the Whip of slays with res Poison can come into play to free up the ring slot.

I stop due to resists needed or if it's too hard in general - the potions come as they come. This especially in NPP where you can buy a few potions if there's a glaring lack of them.

Regarding rewards - I believe it's based on player fame *only*. That is - what kind of quest you just finished has no impact on the quality of the "gift".

One other thing, later on rings will be the "thinnest" sector. In other words, you want to have CON 18/200 covered from other equipment and have better rings than CON there. As said that's for later though.
