My 50th or so Angband character, and the first to make it past statgain, thanks to swapping two =oDam for =oCon and discovering what Protection From Evil does :).

I got Ringil from a random troll just after statgain, so to compensate the RNG gave me multiple disenchant and poison resists, and no chaos or nether. I eventually got fed up with scumming for them at dlvl 63, and dived to dlvl 98, picking up most of my current kit on the way. Meleeing strange L's, U's and D's whle swapping resists was rather amusing. Especially when my BoC's were destroyed in my inventory just before meeting Great Chaos Wyrms.

Sauron wasn't too much trouble. My first encounter with Morgoth was without Dex sustain. I WoD'ed him as an experiment and couldn't find him again, so I went home and swapped Elessar for "oTrickery. I went back and meleed him some more. The only scare was when a summoned W breathed nether for 400 dam, but otherwise it was a matter of being conservative. My 50 character experience helped there.

I like dwarf paladins. The combination of low stealth, strong melee and heal spells are good for luring creatures into maze traps :).
