Another argument in favor of spirituality is that since you have so bad stealth, you'll get plenty of spells thrown at you. You'd better resist those if you want to survive.

Why not store a spell in your staff? Choose the "copy a spell" option and you can store a spell there that you need/want. Put an oft-used spell from an unuseful spellbook and drop the spellbook.

Haste, manathrust, stinking cloud, WoR, or another oft-used spell.
