I don't know how much you melee things, but (I think) equipment bonuses don't affect ranged combat, so you might consider the boots of wormtongue.

You could also swap in Caspanion right now if you wanted to, boosting your intelligence (and mana), and letting you swich out barahir when you get somethign better.

If you do all 4, you'll get IM_ELEC, Activate for heal and banisment, and deal more damaged in ranged combat, at the loss of telepathy. You could always carry taratol as a swap for when you meet the big blue 'D's
