I think that the ring of vitality is ok, since it uses up an equipment slot that could have been used for a resistance. I didn't have poison resistance until near the end andstill don't have shards.

I am not going to do the Void with this character. It would not be difficult, but looking for stairs in the Nether Realm with unusual rooms on is too tedious.
