With only 199 HP, you should to expect to find a *lot* of monsters that you can't handle. Teleport them away, and just keep going.

It helps do be pretty deep, so that there might be some monsters that actually give you real experience. (Level 26 for a level 29 char is a painfully slow way to advance levels, and it doesn't give many stat potions either.)

Good stealth (skill 10+) can help a LOT, if you have a few extra skill points to spend.

Finally: you have a lot of mana for so few HP. You might want to trade the mage-staff for Maedhros: speed and ESP is a very big help. You can use the staff as a swap, but I suspect you rarely need to use that much mana in a single fight.

I play a similar character as a Hermit. But I usually die around Clvl 35. Mainly due to impatience not weakness.
