I also think that toning down archery is a good idea -- it seems even stronger than usual in comparison with other forms of attack. I think that this is a combination of getting more shots and being able to create large quantities of missiles to get brand/slay ammo. Reducing the damage multipliers for brands/slays might be enough.

Another comment: as you might have noticed, I feel that stealth, perception, and luck are relatively useless compared with the other stats. For stealth, this is because one should be clearing every level anyway; sneaking around to gather items isn't practical in ironman play. Perception is really more of a convenience than anything else, it seems -- faster pseudo id and level feelings are nice, but not particularly useful, and the archery bonus is relatively insignificant. I don't know exactly what luck affects, but it seems unlikely to me that it is worth pumping -- my high-elf winner had very low luck for most of the game and seemed to find better stuff than this ostensibly much luckier character (I was wearing a +5 amulet of fortune when going downstairs for almost all game). I'd suggest improving these stats to make them more attractive options...

Luck helps you get arts. I think I may reduce the probabilities of artifacts appearing for low-Luck characters, even more than already. That will make it more important. It also can save you from instadeaths.

Stealth I don't think I can do much about, either ya value it or ya don't.

Perception not sure. It does a lot of things at the moment but none of them is critical. Probably the best is limited ESP once you hit 18/80. Any thoughts on how I could change it?

Summons are not a big problem when one has beam teleport other. Have you considered making teleport other into a bolt instead?

Does luck affect item generation in ways other than getting more artifacts? I think it should, and as things stand the difference in probabilities isn't very noticeable, although I haven't gone to look at the actual numbers...

One thing that might make stealth more worthwhile is if new monsters on a level actually are generated asleep sometimes.

I think it is reasonable for perception to do lots of little things; it just doesn't seem like enough at the moment. Perhaps the effect on archery could be increased (especially the penalties for low perception)? Also, it might make sense for perception to help resist blindness/confusion.
