You still use the rune spells a lot, I guess? Or some item tweaking with those runes? I can't see which items are forged --- that's another thing missing in the dump. Dev version has item source descriptions by Big Al, so it will have information about tweked items, I suppose.

I don't use the rune spells often, but they are excellent emergency spellbooks. Also, they let me collect runes without cluttering up my inventory. I haven't done any crafting with them, because I keep forgetting to copy my recipe list over to the machine I'm playing on.

New balance comments: concentrations spells feel a little useful at high levels, but when they have medium-size fail rates they feel balanced. Reducing the amount of mana they give would make them pretty worthless, though, so I guess having them bottom out at 10% failure or so would be good. I might have more balance comments when I win, but it's been fairly challenging so far.

The Paths of the Dead was annoying because Baldor wouldn't come out during the day. Can you put him on the first level of the dungeon or set the surface to be inside so players who happen to arrive as the sun rises don't have to wait for a long time?

Immoliation should be Immolation.

I enchanted two books with one scroll of Fire Proofing, and then later enchanted two books with one scroll of Water Proofing. Both times I had exactly one scroll and two books. When I tried enchanting a stack of many books the scroll disappeared. I'm assuming this is a bug.

Apart of fixing the spell power bug (thanks for reporting it, again), I also removed monsters summoning out of sight, which should make the game easier, especially for non-magical classes and especially in tower dugeons. I guess, for your mage ,this might have canceled out, more or less.

Then I tried to make it very easy to start in Bree, hard to start in the Farm and as hard later on, compensated by low-level dungeons with rewarding guardians (will have to work on it some more in 0.6.3, which is still very alpha). Andrew, in turn, made the end-game hard and interesting, though mostly in 0.6.3, IIRC.
