I dont know the ac values of monsters down there offhand, but 124 to hit is low. You need either 200+ or many more attacks.

You can expect another +50 to hit or so from levelling up Grond I guess, and I dont know if you have the Tulkas buff running in this dump. If you really want to melee, consider steal-scumming your speed ring shops for speed rings that also add to attacks.
I think that summoning dragons would still be the easier way to go.
