What do the Gauntlets of Saukareb (+8) do? It'd be great if somebody fixed the item flags display that I disabled because it was broken (at least for partially *ID*d items)...

They sustain charisma and have free action and resist light and +8 to hit, so it is unlikely I'll ever want to use them unless I desperately need gloves with resist light.

I'm missing a bunch of resists, but everything else is great. Having both a shield (Findo) with nether resist allowed me to go for the Paths of the Dead as soon as I found a map. I made the same mistake as a while back when I left Hornburg without going to the Paths, leaving Sarumun as my only option. Without a decent ring or boots of speed that was going to be impossible, so I dived in the Crystal Castle and quickly found a Book of Shapechanging instead. I gave cheetah a try, though I remember Andrew saying they were going to be nerfed before the last update, and they are still great.

With the cheetah boots (+10) and +2 bonus to agility I have 20 speed (and the glorious feet of light).

Looking forward to beating up Sauron's buddies.

I woudn't mind finding a book of Power for Mana Storm so I don't have to use the Mana rune, but besides that and shard/chaos resists I am definitely ready for Sauron/Morgoth.

Victory. Sauron was easy, but Morgoth took me down to 600HP a few times. I used all three of my *Cure All Wounds* potions to stay in the fight. A little more damage and I would have used some regular CAW to build up my health.

Almost all monsters at 80+ are created in just a few letters groups (A, g, L). Once again, diving through Angband was pretty repititous for me and is probably painful for classes without a spell of Stair Creation. Instead of taking 800 turns and 15 minutes to go from dlevel 1 to 85, I could see it taking hours. Once again I recommend cutting the size of Angband.

That bug with nether resist being forgotten is still present. This time I "remembered" it as being on my cloak. When I re*identified* the cloak I got "BUG: Forgetting something on an object we shouldn't forget. Please report." which was the same message received when I forgot the source of my nether in the first place. I get the same error message whenever I identify some things, like all weapons of Numenor.

Some uniques constantly teleport away, except for very occasional instances they actually stay to fight. The Tevildo cats are the worst offenders. In my other games I didn't kill them, not because they were too difficult, but because they would teleport away before I could get into their line of sight. Kronos was also annoying like this.

The location of the entrance to a vault isn't always obvious even after magic mapping the vault which means opening it involves stone-to-mudding or tunneling every wall. Could you make permanent walls look at least a little different from regular walls? Perhaps make them different after a search, like with basins and writing.

Amnesia means there is no option but retreating for mages without potions of restore mind or mushrooms or rods of restoration. Before finding a bag of elixers, this involves carrying lots of potions and praying they don't get frozen. It would be nice if there were some method to become immune to it though this method should be sufficently rare or have downsides.

Bags have the problem where inscripted items put in them lose their inscriptions and {ing the bag inscripts it instead of the items inside. Similarly, *identifying* anything in a bag gives you everything you need to know, but if you examine the item again it loses the new information.

I was going to suggest adding more types of fountains to take advantage of, but I just found a Misty Fountain (Restore Body) for the first time in lower Angband, so I guess they're just really rare.

Keep up the good work. I must try to win as a warrior one of these days.

We're also dropping 40 levels, so the whole game will be levels 0-60 only... I'll work something for Angband, but remember Morgoth is strictly for the completionist obsessed and will be more so in the next version.

Bag items should inherit auto-inscriptions you set from the knowledge menu - sorry this isn't so intuitive. I'll work on the *identify* inheritence for the next version.

Amnesia: Do you prefer Angband's version? I'm was planning on making this slightly easier for mages. Perhaps only being able to cast each spell once while you have amnesia?

Cutting 40 levels from Angband sounds good.

Is the Angband version of amnesia where you lose some knowledge of monsters or items? I don't really the idea of losing monster knowledge because it is pretty important and there being a way to lose them is a large incentive to use spoilers. Losing knowledge of what the item types are would be fine. I do like that idea of only being able to cast each spell once (or maybe something like once up to level 30, twice up to level 45, and three times at level 45). You should keep in mind that the spell of Restore Mind in the book of Transformations cures amnesia if you decide to do that.

Speaking of status effects, what does static do? I've wondered ever since I found a potion of mana for the first time and I finally got it this game and was "stuck in a timeloop." When it ended I could "move again" but I could move around (at +31 speed) even before it ended. I'm guessing it teleports you back to where you got the disease every x turns and my superb constitution cured the disease too quickly.
