My google group has character files uploaded since level 12 when I decided that I was so lucky that would live a long time. I found a melee weapon of westernesse on level 6.

You have ESP--keeping away from Shelob should be easy. Your biggest danger remains Drolems. If you detect one, stay well away from it. Dwarf Paladin is not known for good stealth.

That's why Weaponmastery is so nice. Much more disenchanting, and one of the top 2 pairs of gloves in the game becomes worthless.

And Weaponmastery comes up to (+5,+5), which is a nice bonus to melee. (+4,+3) is just OK.

Killed Hoarmurath for 74 of 93 unique. Got mace of disruption Deathwreaker off a scroll of *acquirement*. Level 48 recalling to 95, HP 1014, SP329, AC165, hitting 397/712 fire vulnerable with Deathwreaker rather than Orome, speed 26 (was 32), 59 artifacts found, experience per kill now 280.

Deathwreaker! Go kill Sauron and Morgoth. You aren't going to do better much better than 555 dam/turn. Although a nice +Damage elven ring (Nenya or Vilya) would give you better melee (600dam/turn!) and still keep you at 20 speed unhasted. (Going below that vs Morgoth is risky.)

A better speed ring would help too...

BUT: that character is already endgame strong. With unlimited healing, even at 5% failure, you shouldn't have much trouble against the bosses.

Made level 50 by killing Gothmog, Lungorthin, Pazuzu, Ancalagon (78 of 93 unique seen killed), and a hoard of demons and dragons/wyrms for 2.5 million experience on level 95. I have now killed 455 "U" including 2 greater balrog, 3 pit fiend, and 5 horned reapers. I got book wrath of God,=speed+11,steel shod boots of speed +10 (to replace my ruined by bile demon boots), Nenya immunity cold, Ingwe, mace Taratol, and junk artifacts - now have seen 69. I am HP1058, SP383, AC194 wearing Isildur instead of Caspanion, saving throw now 100%, speed 24 without haste, all resists except light, nether, shards, wielding Deathwreaker immunity fire for 427 to 1052 average damage, with swap of Taratol for immunity lightning hitting 272 to 422 average damage. Experience per kill is now 395!
IT WAS A SIX HOUR BATTLE, with 3 hours to sift through the objects...

Shouldn't have ditched the Amulet of Weaponmastery. (Ditch one of the shortbows instead--you can't possibly use both, and your chances of using even one of them are miniscule.) If you run across Thorin (very likely), you may want another source of sustain strength, and the +4(?) damage is a nice benefit too.

I already found the small metal shield of Thorin 167k turns ago and sold it off because I liked the large metal shield of Anarion better. The amulet of weaponmastery was discarded because amulet of Ingwe gave me +3 wisdom, which I needed more than the damage and resists of the weaponmastery...

I value immunities more than sustains except in a few very special cases. I really hate losing scrolls and staves to acid attacks.

Oh yeah, as for amulets, you still haven't found the very best, which will give you extra damage, speed, AND wisdom, as well as RPoison to free up your cloak slot.

Went to level 99 with potions and scrolls. Found Cubragol lying on the floor, wielded it for un-hasted speed >30. Saw Sauron, did a destruction just missing him to prepare for battle. Beat on him with 4 potions healing used till he teleported away with 3 life asterisks. Killed summoned Thuringwethil and various critters. Then detected him and did another destruction missing him. Then beat him to death, no problem. Used a total of two speed and 5 healing potions. Killed 87/95 unique. 82 Artifacts found. Experience per kill is now 491. Scumming level 99 to get bolts for Cubragol before taking on Morgoth...

Cubragol isn't much of a shooter. If you plan to use archery, use something else--Bard, Belthronding, a good ego Heavy XBow +shots or Lt Xbow of the Haradrim. Cubragol is best as a source of speed to back up melee. (That is: you can wear +damage rings--either elven rings or ordinary damage) on both hands.)

I killed Morgoth and got trash artifacts, so I will not continue this player to 100 million experience as I intended. It took 11 potions healing, 4 *Healing*, 1 potion speed, 1 banish scroll, and 1 spell destruction to clear out the summoned monsters so that I could see the objects. This game took 7 weeks of 60 hours plus playing per week. Although the character is named LCC1, it is not my first with Angband 3.1.0
I credit the quick win to never taking an unnecessary chance. I heal up as soon as a potion would be about right for maximum HP, not when I am low on HP. I teleport away monsters which are out of my class. I teleport myself away when I get to 1/3 maximum Mana to rest. So I never run out of Mana, and the worst I have ever been is 30% of maximum HP at time of teleport. I hope that my quick victory in 3 million turns does not offend anyone LOL!

420 hours is not a short win... If you are playing that carefully--1 dungeon turn every 5 seconds, including resting and running--then you can probably win in < 1M game ticks (rather than 3M game ticks as here.)
Anyway congrats!
