I managed to kill Mugash and Wormtounge on the previous level, Wormy giving up the Helm and Boots. But was chased off by a Baby Chromatic Dragon (breath). I spent a few turns healing my wounds and I cast bless just as the first Orc moved toward me. I let fly with my sling and dropped 1 or 2 of them before a Druid, from a side passage stepped between us. Worse yet, he brought a tiger with him. The Druid dropped quickly, but not before slowing me, which made beating the Tiger extremely costly. One the Tiger was finished, I was heavily wounded and facing Grishnakh. Knowing that both healing and fighting were futile I decided that my best option was an un-ID'd scroll. A low percentage chance since only Teleportation (or a few other rarer scrolls) would have saved me. The scroll was Monster Confusion which wasn't bad, but I never got a chance to make use of it. Too bad I didn't last longer because I was really looking forward to putting that wand of ID to good use.

Grishnack, the Tiger and the baby chromatic are all quite scary when first encountered!
