I was hesitant to upload this character because everytime I upload a character to the ladder it dies not long after, but this last dungeon level was too much and I just had to upload it.

This is by far my best rogue, I've only had any success with warriors and mages so far. Of course I'm not even at 1000' yet, but this character seems promising.

Small update, good haul on 1000'. I hope I don't get any artifact weapons any time soon because it'll be hard to seperate me from my current weapon. 2d6 rapier of lightning, courtesy of a large kobold.

I'm missing cold resistance, but figure it's not that big of a deal. I found some boots of stability in the black market and decided to buy them, I figure you can't have nexus resistance too soon.

An orc dropped a scroll of acquirement at 1250', and I read it immediately and got an artifact dagger. It's frost branded, slays evil, *slays* undead, has a really good to-hit and somewhat better to-damage than my 2d6 lightning rapier, but I need it for resist elec atm. I got resist cold from a shield I bought in the black market. I'll miss the 2d6 once I switch to the dagger, atm I get same amount of hits with both, but the slay evil is nice.

Oh man my last run in the dungeon was crazy. There was a small vault which I cleared without trouble, dropped half my spellbooks and stuff to fill my bag with goodies, then decided to kill the Queen Ant before recalling. Yeah fire ants burn recall scrolls pretty quickly. So I started my slow climb home from 1850' (tried reading a teleport level, but it sank me, so I had to climb from 1900'). At 1850' coming down from 1900' a Dread dropped a bow that gave immunity to elec! At 1700' I found the Star on the ground, at 1550' a stone troll was kind enough to drop the artifact armour you see on me. At 1450' a blue yeek (one of boldor's guards) dropped a scroll of acquirement, and reading it gave the artifact flail in my inventory. It *slays* dragon and overall is really nice, but I'm gonna hold on to my current weapon mostly because it gives resist nether. Killing a party of novice rogues on '1400 yielded my ticket home: a stack of 3 scrolls of recall.

Making some of the biggest mistakes possible yielded absolutely amazing results. Immune to electricity already lol. I resist everything now except confusion, shards, and disenchantment.

I love random artifacts so much. It makes every single item exciting, because you never know what will be an artifact and what won't, and you never know when you find an artifact what all it'll give.

Died by holding down attack right, was killing a bunch of orcs, didn't think Uvatha was close enough to wake and come after me, so I just sat there letting him attack me while I killed orcs.

I changed my equipment for more armour, dropped telepathy and res_nexus before fighting morgoth. Was tired of failing to find healing, *healing*, and life potions, so I just scummed dl 1 for 9 potions of speed, and feeling rather poorly equipped, went to 5000'. I met Fundin Bluecloak down the stairs, killed him, and Morgoth showed up immediately after.

I dropped my staff of healing and started shooting those holy might arrows until he got right next to me. I started meleeing him without much trouble, but the collapsing ceiling destroyed my healing staff after I used 1 charge.

Phase door + cure criticals kept me fine for a while. I used my only mass banishment scroll when he summoned a dozen Liches, and he promptly summoned a dozen ancient dragons right after, so I telported.

He summoned Vecna, Qlzquup, the Tarrasque, Azriel, and some less important (I forget who) uniques.

All-in-all I used 3 or 4 healing potions, 20 or so cure critical wounds, 2 potions of speed and not even all my holy might arrows (maybe 10, I had 17 to start I think).

It didn't take too long to kill him. He dropped my int (unsustained) from 18/*** to 18/130, so he didn't even hit me (with that attack atleast) many times. He kept wasting his actions summoning useless monsters or stuff that I'd tele away. He never mana stormed me once, and only mana bolted once or twice.

It was kind of disapointingly easy, but I *finally* WON!

I dunno what he dropped because as soon as he died some asshole manastormed me destroying all the loot but his hammer and crown, so he didn't drop any other artifacts.

After he died, I killed Gorbag the orc captain, Cantoras the Skeletal Lord, and Quaker, Master of Earth (don't think Morgoth summoned any of those, but I could be wrong). I didn't feel like battling Vecna. I found one artifact scimitar that spawned on the floor, and a Great Wyrm of Balance dropped the Jewel, which was useless. Cantoras dropped an artifact Mithril Shield which was ok but inferior to my current shield.

I haven't retired yet, not sure if I'll start a new character soon, dive to 127 and look for more artifact/kill uniques, or if I'll just stay away from Angband for a while.

Ugh, my first character to live past ~1500' in a while, and I died trying to fight chaos hounds. Before, I never had res_chaos when chaos hounds showed up, so I never fought them before, never knew how fucking strong they are, wtf. How do their breaths do so much damage while I have resistance?
