This variant is very hard! I think even harder than Zang. I'll have to play a non-dragon through Drang for comparison. Most of my chars keep dying before dlevel 40. It seems you need confusion and speed in addition to 4BR, FA/SI by dlevel 30. This one died after being confused by a bronze dragon breath weapon repeatedly and having something summon a host of dread that surrounded him and netherbolted him to death. I played a psuedo dragon this time. The blind/light/dark resist right at the beginning was helpful. The only big break I got was the artifact ice ring, but it had an aggravate on it. I thought that since dragons have bad stealth anyway that the aggravate wasn't so bad...
