As of March 31 2008, my ISP's USENET feed provider ceased to exist (buyout by another company). Since that date, I no longer have any access to the USENET. Therefore, I am forced to discontinue r.g.r.a frontend on Angband.oook.cz website.

Thankfully, MediaWiki is very extensible, and writing a unique
validation process is very straightforward.

I agree completely. However, they first need to defeat the captcha,
which (depending on the nature of the captcha employed) isn't a simple
process. Although many captchas are easily defeated, these generally use
no perturbation (or at least very weak perturbation), no rotation, fixed
fonts, fixed background color etc. There are plenty of good captchas
that don't have these weaknesses.

I'm  not saying that captchas are a silver bullet, but they *can* be
useful (when implemented correctly). Of course, one could employ both a
captcha and a unique validation scheme to be extra careful.
