Walking the Pattern at level 27 For those who don't know, the Pattern is an emblem of order from Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber (HIGHLY recommended). Only a member of the royal family of Amber may walk it safely, and even then, to stray from it is death. To finish walking it is to gain the power to travel to different Shadows (realities). Nothing so drastically happens in Chengband/Hengband, except that all your statuses are cured, all stats/exp restored, and right at the center you are allowed to teleport level or teleport normally (similar to the books). Often, there are great items generated in the center, and that green ( is one of Chris's brilliant new items, a pair of Dragon Wings. Like Dragon Boots/Gloves/Helms, they grant randomly determined resists, but as they're wings, they also give levitate. This particular specimen was +3 Stealth, and bestowed rPoison and rSound.
