Mirror Technique Still working out some good techniques ... This is the best I have so far. Super Ray hits for about 183 HP in my case. But, if a Super Ray hits a mirror, then it destroys the mirror and launches 8 new Super Rays, one in each direction. Alas, I was hoping that if each of these hit a mirror, the you would get 8 more, etc. etc. I guess that would be too powerful. But still, there is no reason why I can't double up each attack. 366HP is not bad damage output for my level, so I simply need to lay down some mirrors before waking up something big and nasty :-) Oh, and I already tried luring a monster on to a mirror, hoping for the 9x Super Ray, but the new rays start one square off the mirror. The direction of firing is not random, the way a Staff of Starlight is, so it will fire in each of the 8 possible directions even if there is just a wall in the way. But you can do some nifty line of sight tricks. Place a mirror at an intersection and back out of the LoS of an approaching pack of hounds. When the hounds enter the "LoS" of your mirror, than shoot a Super Ray and Whammo! No risk whatsoever :-) Seen 1792 times. |
