Except for the whole Anti-magic thing. Not as good as the original, though.

To get truly good artifacts, you need to go deeper. You should not be getting end game gear at L40, IMHO. L80 is more appropriate and L95 is even better. Your gear should improve more as the game progresses. But like I said, you really don't want to know what the original was :)
