My first winner.

I had the bug with comments so my skills aren't showing.
Started this character concentrating on archery and evasion. Eventually bought out the entire archery tree. Stealth was an afterthought - especially after finding some items that granted stealth, but it turned out to be essential in the lower levels. Had an easy time killing most of the uniques I encountered including Gothmog.
Tried halfheartedly to kill Morgoth, but was unable to hurt him much. Was able to get two silmarils. Did not want to risk getting the third one as i only had my wielded weapon left.
The way up went smoothly. Upon exiting I had a close call with Carcaroth. Ended up getting song of Elbereth in order to get some of the troll guards that were surrounding me to go away enabling me to finish up carcaroth.

Congratulations! This is the first victorious archer on the ladder.

I'd be interested to hear more about your playing style and which parts were easy or hard. Did you make more use of versatility or point blank shot? How much did you use flaming arrows? Was your Song 10 for Sharpness, or is that just a coincidence? Same question about Perception and Listen.

Hey, nice! It's cool how versatility pumps your melee up so high. I'm surprised you didn't grab weaponsmith to make arrows at the forges but I guess you found enough as you adventured.

I made more use of archery pretty much from the first time I had a bow and arrows. Versatility was used only when I ran out of arrows. I was lucky to find the feanorian lamp pretty early on, so I had a good light radius and could shoot most stuff before it reached me.
As I tried to conserve arrows, I avoided using flaming arrows except for exceptionally tough foes or in difficult situations.
Song 10 was for sharpness to get a silmaril, and at the end I also used it for Elbereth.
Perception was for lore master. I increased it a bit more afterwards to help find doors and avoid traps. Thinking back, listen would have been a good idea.
I did think about using smithing for arrows, but I managed to find enough arrows and only found a few forges during my descent (but saw about three enchanted ones when I ascended).

Cool, thanks. You didn't use Sharpness for fighting because you didn't want to make the noise?

I didn't really think of using it till that point, although it would have made sense. Especially for those horrors with really high armor ratings.
