I'm having bad luck boosting damage dice. Boosting pluses is all but maxed out for my danger level and I really only managed to get +0 to damage. This hurts. But I really should be able to boost those damage dice. In fact, every 200 or so kills should do it, but here I am with 4933 kills. I'm crushing Ogres in the Giant's Hall and I can do 100 to 300 per level it seems. Yet, I can't get a lucky roll!

I also goofed with regard to FA, so those nice gloves are sitting at home.

Definitely too early on the sword, but I shall persevere! At first, I was dismayed by the accuracy vs damage dynamic, but in the end, I think this is preferable. I shall eventually slay via damage dice with my Force/Mana branding spells, at which point damage boosts won't be so important. But accuracy will shine!

I have considerable traction at the moment but my one obstacle is an appalling armor class. My third book and Stone Skin are supposed to alleviate that obstacle but, alas, that has not been forthcoming.

I did spam black oozes for a bit for my last dice boost. Statistics revealed about 280 kills for the boost but it ended up taking over 900. Thus, the high kill count ... I've been very unlucky so far, about 3x more effort than expected on all counts.

What does the 3rd book mean? Telepathy spell = Hammerhand. Stoneskin spell = +40ish AC. Haste self spell = +10 speed. These would be huge about now!

Ooh, even better than wilderness trickery (never recommended, btw) is some tentative dragon's lair exploration. I had to do this without free action since I needed levitation boots. Almost immediately, I picked up Jack's Cloak (=Hammerhand, FA and SI) so now I'm feeling a bit better. Stealth all the way up to Superb! But I just lost my wilderness stair access, so I should probably pull back now and head over to Camelot.
