Chance to use less mana on spell/prayer scales with each level. The base chance at level 1 is 10% and at level 50 is 45%. When this roll succeeds, the spell or prayer will consume a random percentage of it's original mana with a minimum of fail_chance * 2 and a maximum of 75% at level 1 and 62.5% at level 50. For practical purposes, this translates into an average mana savings for a Pixie Mage of 4.7% at level 1 and 31% at level 50.

As you can see it's a strange combination of bonuses and penalties, like the -1 to digging and -12 to hit with melee -- I figure they aren't naturally inclined to dig and are very weak. But I did give them +3 stealth and maybe that is too low for the fragility. Pixies or faeries in most lore are supposed to be very rare to see anyway (I believe a pixie is supposed to be the slightly larger and often less friendly cousin to the faerie, but still typically a surface dweller).

I had previously had their speed bonus max out at +5 at level 50 and maybe I should leave it that high until I actually complete the game, but I wanted to try the lower levels with a lessor speed bonus -- it's almost impossible without it the +1 early on due to encumbrance. Further, I figure that the speed bonus will probably offset the need for more CON gear over say a ring of speed at higher levels. I'm starting to think that I should just scum my last pixie (died at level 36, but I never posted her) until I win the game so I have a better idea of how this all plays out at higher levels.

Trolls aren't ready because I need to have the game start at sunset instead of morning; they are hurt by light and can't travel more than 5 or so spaces out in open sun before they die and there isn't normally enough food in the dungeon to sustain them because they are ravenous and starve to death pretty easily. Thus, they need to be able to visit the general store for food or have some other mechanisms changed.
