Just got "Totila" bringing me to +4 Speed.

"Forasgil" does better damage, and "Turmil" gives Cold Immunity, but the +2 Speed (and Confuse Resist) have me carrying "Totila" for now.

It was *Destruction* and the only items that survived were a Wand of Haste Monster and Amulet of Teleportation. Lesson learned...

Finally decided to just stay on my half of the vault that it couldn't see.

I also had a "don't read unknown scrolls on treasure feeling 9 levels" moment. I had half cleared a medium vault and hadn't found the interesting item(s) but found an unknown scroll. Thinking it may be *Acquirement* or one of the Banishment scrolls I decided to read it (some frost breather had destroyed a stat potion before I could get to it and I was upset). It was *Destruction* and the only items that survived were a Wand of Haste Monster and Amulet of Teleportation. Lesson learned...

Found a Rod of Speed in the Black Market, unfortunately it has 70% fail rate. Hopefully that improves...

With STR/DEX maxed out, I need to figure out the best weapon/ranged combo. Sling of Buckland has been doing really well for me, but Amras may be able to bump certain weapons up in damage per round (and it has an extra +1 Speed). The Sling having ammunition that doesn't break is fantastic, and I found I have enough Mithril Shots of Flame to kill a Death Mold.
