Among all the children of Iluvatar the smiths of the Noldor, the "Deep Elves", are most renowned for their craftsmanship. The strength and sharpness of their weapons rivaled that of the masters smiths of the Naugrim, and their beauty, balance, and powerful spells are beyond the abilities of even the most gifted of the Dwarven smiths. In Valinor they were instructed by the Vala Aule. Notable examples include Feanor (who crafted the Silmarils and the Palantiri), and his grandson Celebrimbor (who forged the Rings of Power). They reforged the shards of Elendil's sword Narsil into Aragorn's sword Anduril on the eve of the War of the Ring.

In the game, weaponsmiths play like warriors but with the ability to drain abilities from weapons and armor that you can't use and add an ability (only one) to a weapon or armor you like. It takes a bit of practice and planning to optimize this skill.
