In the conservative point of view, I decided to start with Mrs. High Elf Monk. Nothing much safer for me, as the Monk is quite sufficient without artifacts. Apparently, I haven't missed much, as I got the Phial and a few other arts, as well as the Cloning Pits in 3.5 hours. Still not to shabby, eh? :)

Here's a quick update at just over 5 hours gameplay, and level 35. 7 blows/610 damage per round, I'm not complaining :) The Three-piece-rod in my inventory saw me through the Old Castle very well, with its stealth and nice brands. The only hairy moment occurred when one of the Lesser Titans summoned a passle of critters which included Beld, but he kissed the ground hard to the Monk's high AC (+stoneskin of course) and barehanded, smashing blows.

Things seem to be well on the way to level 50, but I can never be overconfident, especially with preserve mode off. So far so good, but I really have to hold the reins on my diving impulse.
