After exploring Barrow-Downs levels 1 and 2 several times, finding common items like Potions of Heroism to sell in Bree, I found a Dagger (Defender) on Barrow-Downs level 1. Cadoloth here is a Wood-Elf with negative Weaponmastery... with Eru penalty for wielding blades... so I sold the Dagger (Defender) for over 10000 gold instead of wielding it. Using the money, I purchased scrolls of *identify* for the junkarts.

Will this character live on, or will Cadoloth find an early death like my other characters?

Tengu were guarding the princess on Barrow-Downs 3; that was bad for me. First, Tengu can command me to return (which makes them hazardous in groups), so my Phase Door spell is rarely useful. Second, Smeagol's Ring of Invisibility is no use against Tengu.

But worst, Tengu resist fire. I could not use my normal Fire Arrow rune spell, so I had to resort to Manathrust, which depletes my mana too rapidly.

I almost killed one, but it teleported away. Later, another one pulled me into a group of them, and I died without being able to escape.
