I've only just started to get the feel of how a ninja should really work. I've started leaving most things asleep and just scanning quickly for artifacts. Tough monsters are killed using the Ninja Dance - Quick Walk with lots of iron spikes, and the occasional blink. This tactics fails against enemies with powerful ranged attacks or summoning, which is why uniques like Gachapin and Dagon (both still alive) are so annoying. Eol was time-consuming but not too difficult, and he dropped nothing worthwhile.

I've had to make painful sacrifices in equipment. Until i find a Helm of Darkness, I can't use Sting (it has a light radius.) Zantetsuken makes me awkward and negates my speed bonus. Shields are out of the question. That's why I'm using Littlethorn.

I'm really happy that I have a decent excuse to wear Black Clothes. Draconians get their basic resists covered naturally, and ninjas obviously love the stealth. My dream armor would be Black Clothes of Elvenkind (and an Elven Cloak of Stealth... yum.)

Gachapin finally went down. No potions of healing necessary, just a couple CCW and an activation from the rod of healing. That thing has a pretty significant fail rate, but when I'm in a safe spot I can just keep trying (usually works on second or third attempt, and economizes potions of healing). I also had to teleport many hydras away.

No really big changes since last post. I don't know if there are any super great light weapons to be found but I'm praying for one. Littlethorn's damage output isn't very satisfactory and I run out of iron spikes fast.

Also for the weapons, try it. Dual wielding does require some training though, so don't start too deep with them (iirc, roughly, its trained when fighting vs monsters of your clev or higher)

He tried to teleport Rinaldo, Son of Brand, but Rinaldo resisted and started mana bolting him. Hiro teleported out and landed next to Itangast, who fried him in one breath. This only just occured to me, but if I had chosen to use Hide in Flame instead of Absconding, Hiro would have survived =D
