My current character. Up till now, I've played quests, but I think I'll stop now and dive to stat-gain depth. My last quest (~15 fire elementals at 1150) ended up with all my WoR scrolls destroyed, and also my last copy of Beginner's Handbook, which meant no detect stairs - but luckily, I found a rod of stair/door detection which help me climb until I found a new WoR scroll at 600'.

That's it, more or less, for now.

Oh, I forgot - my bow is my main weapon against most tough creatures; I only got 2 attacks when I bought the ring of dexterity, which was the last thing I did before posting the dump (next thing I did was buy arrows).

I never do quests between 1000ft and stat gain either... it's not worth the risk and delay and you can still do many (easy) quests after maxing your important stats.

Why are you missing that many vital things in your inventory? You should really get: Staff of Teleportation, potions of CCW and Cure Disease and maybe some Phase Door scrolls before you start to dive.

Sometimes when I have to face many acid or fire creatures I drop some WoR scrolls at a safe place in the dungeon and fetch them back when I want to recall.

Here I am, not a long time later, but I just found my first dungeon book. Also, I bought a potion of Dexterity in the BM, which allowed me to get 2 attacks even without the ring of dexterity, which in turn meant I could wear the ring of strength and get a few more +dam, which I'll do until I get a better ring.

As for the list of things I'm missing: I was without CCW because I ran out on my last trip and there weren't any in the temple. As a paladin, I don't need potions of cure disease (I have the spell). I use portal instead of phase door, and I prefer scrolls of teleportation to staves because they never fail and don't get destroyed in one hit, and I have no blindness and 40% confusion resist. I only have 1 now, but I have portal for non-emergancyl use (it's the only spell I use most of the time because my mana is too low to rely on OO).

I usually drop WoR scrolls at a safe place too, but I was in that level for a long time (looking for the last elemental which was hiding in a nook I thought I already looked in), and I had 3 scrolls - I thought I could get the last elemental and be out quickly without them being destroyed, but I fought a pack of acid hounds on the way and they got 2 of the scrolls, which I didn't notice until it was too late.

Oh, for those unfamiliar with the intricacies of the Ey resist system (which might be everyone except me and Rivo Magii at the moment because I didn' document it yet, and in fact I didn't realize some of it until Rivo emailed me some notes), 40% confusion resistance protects completely from confusion effects, except from disease.

Or it would, if there wasn't a bug in 0.4.0d (and older) that prevents it from working right... But then again, I get to play the development version (currently called 0.4.0e, though it may be 0.4.1 before it's released).

And I should start posting shorter comments, probably...

Comments are ok, they're still shorted than dump itself. But I don't understand the sentence protects completely from confusion effects, except from disease. Is it type and should it be from melee? (Which is not truth, anyway.)

No, if your suffering from disease, one of the possible effects are "dizzy spells", which confuse you and stun you. They are a lot rarer than the stat drains, but they happen sometimes, and they completely ignore all resistances.

Sad, when such things happen due to lack of attention. I've killed couple of characters, because i was looking tv at that moment an didn't pay enough attention to the game.
Thats why i try to play high level character (Clev > 30) only when i can concentrate on playing.
PS. It's Riivo not Rivo Eytan :) and i think i just found a foolproof way to kill high level summoners with mystic. The time will tell, if the tactic actually works :)
