Crowded ... I suspected that there would be a bunch of trolls on the level when I got a quest for 18 Troll Chieftains (escorted). On a small level it got kind of ridiculous! Perhaps I should have abandoned it since it would (and did) use up a *lot* of time and resources at the very least. I decided to try though, since I was quite "quest-prepped". I had 5-6 !of Speed, a good weapon with four attacks and in addition to that 2 damage rings. I also had a few hundred arrows with a decent bow (2 shots as ranger gives "haste") 20+ !CCW a couple of !Healing and of course a couple of teleport away wands ... but those were worthless initially, since there are no free squares for monsters to land on! I think I had zero heal/haste for the last half of the level, but at that point I could take it slow and without risk a few trolls at a time. The rest of the level was pretty much a walk from that point on. Alas - this character died stupidly against Adunaphel due to diving without enough CON in combination with no Nether resist. Ah well ... hopefully the rust will have come off now (I haven't played *bands for a few months). Seen 2828 times. |
