For Maulers, you'd want the heaviest weapons in sight. The heavier, the better.

Stunning Blow, Critical Blow, Knockout Blow and (at CL30) Crushing Blow all restrict you to just a single blow. So I think this character will have much more incentive to use these talents. Crushing Blow in particular is quite good.

So don't despair, I think you can survive stat gain just fine with a bit of patience. Enchant your flail (you can do +10, +10 now, I think) or, better yet, by a lance (30 lbs). Keep an eye on the BM for a Heavy Lance. With an enchanted weapon and Critical Blow you will be doing damage just fine even with just 1 attack.

As for how Mauler attacks work, they get a reduced blows calculation. The formula currently is B = 1.00 + (B - 1.00) / 2 so to get 2 attacks you need to earn 3 and to get all 3 attacks you need to earn 5 (which requires Dex over 18/100, perhaps even higher).
